The Hindi romantic comedy Prem Keetanu, starring Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed, and Aparshakti Khurana, was released in theaters on October 2, 2026. The film is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and is an official remake of the 2024 Malayalam hit Premalu.

The film follows Vishal, a directionless college student who moves to Delhi and falls for Suhani, a focused young woman with a stable job. Aparshakti Khurana plays Ranjeet, Suhani’s boss who competes for her attention.

The supporting cast includes Nikhil Vijay as Vishal’s best friend Magan and Rakesh Bedi as Suhani’s father. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Aafiya Sayed, who is the niece of producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

Director Apoorv Singh Karki defended the casting of Veer Pahariya in an interview with Zoom. Karki said, ‘Veer ke chehre pe innocence hai. Vishal ka joh character voh play kar raha hai voh ek masoom sa bachcha hai.’ He added, ‘Mujhe vahi innocence chahiye thi aur voh Veer ke chehre pe dikhti hai.’

Karki also addressed criticism about Pahariya’s age for the role of a college student. He said, ‘Sab ka apna opinion hota hai. Everyone has the right to have opinions and I will not disrespect that. As a director, Veer mere liye right choice thi.’

Veer Pahariya described the film in an interview with IANS. He stated, ‘The name of my upcoming film is Prem Keetanu, which is coming to cinemas on October 2. It’s a great film with seven songs, and you will see all kinds of emotions in it.’ He added, ‘All the serious films keep coming, but an amazing, heart-touching and hilarious film is coming after a long time.’

The film faced a slow start at the box office. It earned 0.5 crore on its opening day across 1,800 shows, with an occupancy rate of 12 percent. On its second day, collections dropped to 35 lakh, bringing the total India net collection to 85 lakh.

The opening day figure was 95 percent lower than Pahariya’s debut film Sky Force, which collected 12.25 crore on its first day. Prem Keetanu clashed with Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3, which dominated the box office with a 62 crore opening.
