Teaser for Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha Released Ahead of September 25 Premiere

The makers of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha – Shri Ram Ki have unveiled the film’s first poster and teaser, announcing a theatrical release across India on September 25, 2026.

The bilingual project, shot in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi, is directed by Abhishek Singh and stars Dev Sharma as Lord Ram and Anjali Arora as Goddess Sita.

The teaser, launched in August 2026, offers glimpses of Ayodhya, shared moments between Ram and Sita, and their departure into vanvaas (exile).

Cast and Characters

Dev Sharma leads as Shri Ram, with Anjali Arora making her feature-film debut as Mata Sita.

Rajniesh Duggall portrays Ravan, while Sheel Verma plays Lakshman and Nirbhay Wadhwa appears as Hanuman.

The film also features a supporting ensemble, with the story centering on the bond between Ram and Sita.

Director’s Vision

Director Abhishek Singh said the film focuses on the emotional core of the Ramayana rather than spectacle.

‘The Ramayana contains everything, love, family, sacrifice, courage, devotion, duty and the eternal conflict between dharma and adharma. But at the centre of this vast epic are deeply human emotions,’ Singh said.

‘Shri Ram and Mata Sita’s journey is an extraordinary story of love, faith and sacrifice. We wanted the first poster and teaser to begin with these emotions before gradually revealing the larger world of the Ramayana,’ he added.

Singh also stated, ‘This is not merely a story we know; it is a story whose values continue to guide generations.’

Lead Actors on Their Roles

Dev Sharma described playing Shri Ram as a significant responsibility.

‘Playing Shri Ram is not a role one can approach simply as an actor. His name carries the faith and emotions of millions of people, and that brings with it an enormous responsibility,’ Sharma said.

‘I have tried to approach him with complete sincerity and devotion, and to understand the strength, compassion, patience and maryada that define him. I hope audiences, especially the younger generation, are able to connect with those values through our film,’ he added.

Anjali Arora called her role as Mata Sita an emotional journey.

‘For me, playing Mata Sita has been one of the most emotional and responsible journeys of my life. She represents immense strength, dignity, patience and faith. Her love for Shri Ram is profound, but what inspires me equally is her inner courage and the grace with which she faces every trial,’ Arora said.

‘I knew from the beginning that this character had to be approached with complete respect and sincerity. I hope audiences see the devotion and effort with which we have tried to bring her to the screen,’ she added.

Production and Release Plans

The film is presented by AJ Film’s Entertainment World and Ajay Kanojiya, and produced by Prakash Mahobiya and Sanjay Bundela.

Honey Kuldeep Agarwal and Moni Sen serve as co-producers on the Mahobiya Films production.

The songs were shot simultaneously in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi rather than being dubbed.

The trailer for the film was launched on September 17, 2026, ahead of the theatrical release.

Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha will release in cinemas in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi on September 25, 2026.
