Drishyam The Conclusion Cast Announced as Final Chapter Arrives in Theaters

Drishyam: The Conclusion, the final installment of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, was released in theaters on October 2, 2026. The film brings back the core cast from the previous two movies while introducing two major new additions.

Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, the central character who has spent two films protecting his family from a murder investigation. Tabu reprises her role as IG Meera Deshmukh, the police officer determined to uncover the truth about her son’s death.

Shriya Saran returns as Nandini Salgaonkar, Vijay’s wife. Ishita Dutta plays the elder daughter Anju, and Mrunal Jadhav plays the younger daughter Anu. Rajat Kapoor is back as Mahesh Deshmukh, Meera’s husband.

Kamlesh Sawant returns as Inspector Lakshman Gaitonde. Saurabh Shukla reprises his role as screenwriter Murad Ali. Samvedna Suwalka returns as Advocate Gayatri Mohan.

The film also introduces Jaideep Ahlawat as SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar. Ahlawat joins the franchise as a new officer investigating the Salgaonkar case.

Prakash Raj joins the cast as a lawyer who challenges the Salgaonkar family in court. His character warns Meera Deshmukh against taking Vijay lightly.

At the trailer launch in Goa, Ahlawat addressed speculation that he was replacing Akshaye Khanna, who played IG Tarun Ahlawat in Drishyam 2. Ahlawat said: ‘No, absolutely not. When I heard the story, it was never that this character was coming in place of Akshaye, sir. One character’s journey comes to an end, and another character enters. It would not be right to connect this character with that one. It is going to be a different journey, with a completely new introduction.’

Ahlawat also spoke about the responsibility of joining an established franchise. He said: ‘I was very conscious that I was entering a universe that already belonged to the audience. They have lived with Vijay Salgaonkar, they have understood his methods, they have formed opinions about him. So, I couldn’t approach Rajveer as if he was arriving in an entirely new story. He had to arrive with an understanding of the world he was stepping into.’

Samvedna Suwalka recalled her experience filming courtroom scenes in Drishyam 2. She said: ‘Shooting for Drishyam 2 was one of the best shoots of my life. Back in 2022, when I landed the role, I was very nervous because I thought I would have to perform my courtroom monologue in front of the whole cast, which includes greats like Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor! Well, that didn’t happen, but I still had to do it in a courtroom full of people and it’s like performing in front of a live audience. And of course, there was the Ajay Devgn!’

Abhishek Pathak directed Drishyam: The Conclusion and co-wrote the screenplay with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Pathak also produced the film with Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. The film was presented by Star Studio18 and produced under the banner of Panorama Studios.

The music for Drishyam: The Conclusion was composed by Ravi Basrur, known for his work on the KGF franchise. Basrur replaced Devi Sri Prasad, who composed the music for Drishyam 2. Pathak explained the change: ‘Devi Sri Prasad’s dates were difficult to get as he is also making his acting debut now with Yellamma besides his other projects as a composer. I needed a composer who would have sufficient time to work on my songs and score.’

Drishyam: The Conclusion is an entirely original story and has no connection to the Malayalam Drishyam 3, which was released in May 2026. The Hindi film was designed to bring Vijay Salgaonkar’s story to a definitive conclusion.

The film received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Its runtime is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Advance booking opened on September 27, 2026.

Drishyam: The Conclusion opened to strong box office numbers. The film collected over Rs 55 crore gross in India on its first day, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This marked the biggest opening of Ajay Devgn’s career, surpassing his previous record held by Singham Again, which opened at Rs 45 crore.

The first Drishyam film was released in 2015 and opened at Rs 5.85 crore. Drishyam 2 was released in 2022 and opened at Rs 18.15 crore. The first two films in the franchise collectively grossed more than Rs 452 crore worldwide.

Early reviews for Drishyam: The Conclusion were largely positive, with particular praise for the performances of Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Kamlesh Sawant. The film continues to screen in theaters across India and internationally.
