Original Storyline And Production

Director Abhishek Pathak has confirmed that Drishyam: The Conclusion is not a remake of the Malayalam film Drishyam 3. The first two Hindi films adapted Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam originals, but the third chapter follows an original storyline. Pathak said the team spent nearly a year developing the story and another year writing the screenplay.

At the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn said he was unsure whether a third part would be made after Drishyam 2. He mentioned that director Abhishek Pathak came up with an idea that everyone liked, and the writers worked on it for about two and a half years. Devgn also expressed a desire for Mohanlal and the original Malayalam team to watch the film. He stated that it would be a matter of great happiness if they liked it.

The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak and written by Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Parveez Shaikh. It is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. The film is presented by Star Studio18 and produced by Panorama Studios. Returning cast members include Ishita Dutta as Anju, Mrunal Jadhav as Anu, Rajat Kapoor, and Kamlesh Sawant. Saurabh Shukla also reprises his role.

The story picks up after the events of Drishyam 2. The case of Sameer Deshmukh’s death is reopened after new evidence emerges. Vijay Salgaonkar must once again protect his family and their long-hidden secret. The film marks the conclusion of the Hindi franchise, while the Malayalam series is set to continue with a fourth film.

Ajay Devgn shared the trailer announcement on social media with the caption, ‘Sawaal, ab bhi wahi hain. Par jawaab, ab aur bhi nazdeek. Trailer out on 9th September. #DrishyamTheConclusion in cinemas 2nd October.’ He also posted a cryptic message that read, ‘Jo kahaani 2 October se shuru hui thi… woh khatam bhi 2 October ko hogi.’

The trailer has crossed 100 million views within 24 hours of its release. Drishyam: The Conclusion will arrive exclusively in cinemas on October 2, 2026, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.
