Saiyaara Cast: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda Lead Mohit Suri’s Romantic Drama

Yash Raj Films’ musical romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’ features debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the lead roles. The film, directed by Mohit Suri, was released theatrically on July 18, 2025.

Panday portrays Krish Kapoor, a hot-headed and ambitious singer-composer struggling with childhood trauma and anger issues. Padda plays Vaani Batra, a perceptive writer and music journalist recovering from a failed marriage who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

The supporting cast includes Geeta Agarwal Sharma as Mrs. Batra (Vaani’s mother) and Rajesh Kumar as Mr. Batra (Vaani’s father). Varun Badola plays Ashok Kapoor, Krish’s father. Alam Khan appears as KV, Krish’s best friend.

Shaad Randhawa portrays Prince, a hip-hop singer, while Sid Makkar plays Vinit Rawal. Anngad Raaj appears as Rudransh Batra (Rudy), Vaani’s brother. Shaan R Grover takes on the role of Mahesh Iyer, Vaani’s former fianc�.

The cast also includes Neil Dutta as Cleo Matthews (a band member), Ritika Murthy as Neha, Mohit Wadhwa as Rick, and Meher Acharia-Dar as Dr. Khyati. Raunak Kumar Rawat plays Vivaan. Additional band members are portrayed by Karan Barnabas (bass player), Shlok Sanjay Chiplunkar (DJ), and Yajat Dhingra (drummer).

Production and Creative Team

‘Saiyaara’ is produced by Yash Raj Films with Akshaye Widhani serving as producer. Aditya Chopra is the presenter. The story and screenplay are written by Sankalp Sadanah, with dialogues by Rohan Shankar. Vikas Sivaraman is the director of photography.

The film’s music features contributions from multiple composers: Mithoon, Sachet–Parampara, Rishabh Kant, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami. John Stewart Eduri composed the background score. Lyrics are penned by Irshad Kamil, Mithoon, Rishabh Kant, and Raj Shekhar.

Box Office and Reception

Made on a budget of �45 crore, ‘Saiyaara’ grossed over �579.23 crore worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 and the highest-grossing Indian romantic film of all time. The film received positive reviews from critics, with particular praise for Panday and Padda’s performances, Suri’s direction, and the soundtrack.

The film is loosely based on the 2004 South Korean film ‘A Moment to Remember’. It was originally planned as a spiritual sequel to Suri’s ‘Aashiqui 2’ but was reworked into a standalone project.

OTT and Re-release

Following its theatrical run of over 50 days, ‘Saiyaara’ premiered on Netflix on September 12, 2025. The film was re-released in select theatres across India ahead of Valentine’s Day 2026.

In April 2026, it was announced that director Mohit Suri, producer Akshaye Widhani, and stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda will reunite for another romantic drama produced by Yash Raj Studios.
