‘Babita Singh Reporting’ Debuts on Prime Video With Nimisha Sajayan as Lead

Prime Video released the Hindi-language crime drama ‘Babita Singh Reporting’ on August 28, 2026. She accepts a fake disciplinary charge to secure a two-week suspension, using the leave to travel with her husband to Rewa for her sister-in-law’s baby shower . There she briefly reunites with Bansi, a local artist known for making Dasehra effigies. That same night, Bansi is found murdered .

The local police show little interest in solving the case. Babita begins a clandestine investigation that forces her to confront both the corruption in the police system and the everyday patriarchy within her marital home .

The film’s narrative uses the murder mystery as a framework to examine how women’s professional ambitions are tolerated only when domestic duties remain uninterrupted .
